At PageMaster Publication Services, we want you succeed. If there is no book that is like your book give up trying to market it. If no one is buying it now, it won’t be bought when you come on the scene. That’s a negative but realistic way to say, “People are reading books in your market.”
You need to find out out about those books and how your book compares. It helps you show others how your book is unique. Take a trip to the bookstore or Amazon.com and answer questions like these:
- What are the similar books to mine?
- How many titles are available?
- What price are they selling at?
- Why should a bookstore or distributor carry my book?
- What makes my book attractive to bookstores and distributors?
- How would my book along side of the ones in the bookstore?
- How does your book at value to the discussion?
It seems ridiculous to write something unique the same way everyone else does. In truth it’s not such an oxymoron. We all need context. We all follow trends. I think I’m the only one in the theatre that likes it when the hero dies at the end.
Do you think it’s important to give readers what they expect? How far does that make you change your plans? Contact us today if we can help you plan your book.
