How to Prove the Value of Your Book – Your Endorsements

At PageMaster Publishing Services we can help make the fact you’re an expert apparent to potential readers of your book. We wrote about gathering your credentials. In this post let’s look at getting together your endorsements.

Never underestimate the power of social proofs. I am generally more willing to take a chance on a book from an unknown author if there is an endorsement from someone I “know” and trust. Think about it…the cover draws you in, the title may catch your eye, but if another author you’ve read and enjoy gives a good comment on the book you’re considering buying that usually tips the scales.

Of course if I get burned by recommendations from authors more than once they lose my trust. That’s why I give honest reviews when I’m asked to review.

Collect any peer/expert reviews and testimonials relating to your professional expertise, or to this or any previous writing. You’ll need this for front matter for your book, comments on your blog, quotes for marketing material…

What if I don’t have reviews of my work?

If you do not currently have any such reviews or testimonials, write down names of experts, peers, friends, or other individuals familiar with your professional expertise or writing who may be willing to provide them. Then ask them.

Many bloggers review books. Contact bloggers who are writing to the same audience as your book and ask them if they’d be willing to review an advanced copy of the book. In my personal blog I review books, promote the review across my social network, send out the review to my community list, and often interview authors over Skype. I’m not the only one doing this. Many bloggers enjoy reviewing books their readers will enjoy.

Contact us at PageMaster Publishing Services as we may people ready who would enjoy reviewing your book.
